Join this traditional native drumming circle that teaches current and past songs, the history and its teachings plus games of the first Nations. Instruction on how to create a rhythm will be offered while teaching leading, following and listening to every instrument.
Bio: Sabrina Cheung started out as one of the youngest competitors in the Calgary Latin dance scene at 7 years old. She grew up watching and learning from her parents in traditional hula, belly dance and Latin fusion dance. Sabrina has not only competed in ten ballroom dances but also in salsa, bachata, and kizomba. She also has an extensive background in circus, ranging from contortion to aerials.
Most recently Sabrina has traveled teaching Dominican bachata at the international dance festival in Cuba, while also learning Afro-Cuban and Rumba. Her current projects include partnering up with the Woezo Africa music & dance theatre and creoternity theatre to demonstrate the roots of today’s dances, as well as bringing awareness to traditional dances.
